Instrumentation Trends for Noise Reduction Work, as Seen by a Mechanical Engineer

Document Thumbnail

Instruments are needed which tell us not only how much noise a machine generates, but why, when, and where. Like human senses, such instruments must simultaneously process at least two signals to extract information in space and time, as well as frequency and phase, domains. The type of signals and their processing depend on the application. To construct economical systems, modular instruments and more basic training are needed.
