Without sound a television program, even a sports event, becomes worthless, in spite of today's emphasis on visual information and now color video. Since audio today is as important as ever, but still in many instances plays a secondary role to video, attention must be given to audio upgrading. Various areas where improvements or changes are needed are enumerated. Suggestions are offered for improvements in broadcasting and recording components and facilities.
