Measurement of Phonograph Cartridges by the Pulse-Train Method

Document Thumbnail

For CD-4 disc reproduction, phonographs cartridge response to 45 kHz is essential, and it is important to know the electromechanical transfer characteristics of a cartridge over that range. Because the carrier band is FM/PM, the group-delay characteristics of the cartridge are also important. A pulse-train measurement technique, which yields this information, is described.
