Surround Sound in the Eighties'Advances in Decoder Technology
This paper starts with a brief review of earlier decoding technology for both discrete and matrix surround-sound systems. Two current technologies, ambisonics and USQ quadraphony, will be discussed in detail, with particular reference to recent advances in decoder technology for both systems.
