Modeling the Directivity of Loudspeakers

Document Thumbnail

A mathematical approximation has been developed to model the polar response of a loudspeaker transducer. A commercial software package, MathCad, was used to perform the calculations. The results are compatible with published polar responses and directivity indexes of loudspeakers. The model can be used with crossover filter networks and incorporated into arrays.
