Document Thumbnail

This paper describes the use of FM carrier techniques in magnetic tape recording for the purpose of improving the overall signal-to-noise ratio of a magnetic recording system. The system to be described has been demonstrated to have appreciably better than 70-db signal-to-noise ratio relative to a distortion level of 1%.
