Utilizing Omnidirectional Microphone Arrays for Surround Field Recording

Document Thumbnail

Recent experiments in acquisition techniques for surround sound location recording have resulted in omnidirectional microphone array designs in pentarray and pentarray+ configurations. Field recording methods continue to investigate the ability of such configurations to reproduce surround sound imaging through a standard 5.1 loudspeaker arrangement. Examples of recordings will be included in the conference presentation.
