Technical Tours

Wednesday July 15^th, 12:30-1:30pm

Opened in September of 2011, this exceptionally beautiful Montreal venue has an audience capacity of 2100, and the stage can accommodate 120 musicians and a 200 voice chorus. A shoebox design of a “room within a room”, the Hall’s noise floor is rated at an incredibly low NC1 (ARTEC). As host to the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, the hall was designed primarily for acoustic performance. The organ in the hall is a Casavant Frères design (Quebec), who worked in conjunction with architects Diamond-Schmitt and Ædifica on the look of the “façade”.

 

 

 

Solotech. 

Friday July 17^th, 11am-1pm.

This tour will include a behind the scenes look at how one organization provides expertise and equipment rentals and sales, in the areas of  audio, video, lighting, and control systems for live events. The tour will be hosted by Francois Desjardins, and along with the various members of the Solotech team he will be able to answer questions about all aspects of their operations, on local and international levels.
