Workshop 11 - The capture and analysis of immersive soundscapes

Agnieszka Roginska, Hyunkook Lee and Jian Kang

The sound components in an environment bring meaning and uniqueness to a specific location. Soundscapes encapsulate sonic environments that exists at a point in time and space, including sounds sources, their spatial location and behavior. The types of sounds as well as the immersive quality of soundscapes resulting from nature, animals, machinery and humans has been of great interest to researchers and practitioners in audio engineering, machine learning, artists, politicians, environmental engineers, and others. This workshop will bring together panelists in the field to present their work and discuss immersive audio techniques for soundscape capture, analysis, distribution and applications.
