Day 1. Mayor’s reception and technical tour at Aalborg’s concert hall Musikkens Hus.

Musikkens Hus opened in 2014 and is located on the waterfront with a panoramic view of the Limfjord. It is a musical focal point in the North of Denmark and an architectural gem; designed by the internationally renowned architectural firm Coop Himmelb(l)au.

Delegates will take part in a behind-the-scenes tour of Musikkens Hus, including the main concert space. This will start with a 30 minute talk by a technical guide whereafter smaller groups will be led to various locations in the facility by a team of 4 guides.

A light meal and drinks will be served in the upper foyer where the mayor’s office will host a reception for the delegates.

Day 2. Evening at Robbers’ Camp

The location of the evening dinner will be at the Robbers’ Camp in the forest of Rold, the largest forest area in Denmark. For centuries, this area was known as a dubious place for ordinary people to be especially at night. In the dark, the Robbers of Rold would make their move and attack people who, for one reason or the other, had to pass through the forest, which was the only way to get from North to South at that time. The atmosphere of the past will be recreated; resurrecting the robbers for the participants in order to make a thrilling event with a touch of local Danish history.

Coaches will take the participants a short 30 minute drive from Aalborg to the forest’s entrance at Rebild National Park where the American Independence Day is celebrated every year on 4 July. Here robbers greet the participants and walk them through the forest where an exquisite dinner will await the participants under the magnificent treetops. During the dinner, robber stories will entertain the guests in an informal and relaxed atmosphere conducive to networking.
