I worked for the AES full-time for almost 16 years in the roles of Webmaster and later as their CIO. I managed all things related to IT and also built many web applications, including systems for managing membership, exhibition sales, event registration systems, the AES E-Library, a discussion forum, a blogging tool, a CMS, and much more. Some of these tools have since been replaced or augmented with third-party cloud-based software, but much of it continues operating today. I've now moved into a part-time contracting role so I still help maintain some of the above tools when needed.
Outside of the AES my primary job is to help my wife run our Castle Rock counseling center, which uses a completely different part of my brain! :-)
For fun I also maintain a Castle Rock church list.
In 2009, Steve Johnson was presented with the AES Board of Governors Award in recognition of outstanding contributions to the AES web site.
