My name is Dereck Blackburn
I am a freelance audio professional (producer / engineer / mixer) based in Boston, MA. I'm also a musician, I play whatever people need me to in the studio.
I am the owner of Quiethouse Recording in Bedford, MA, a private residential studio where I do the majority of my recording and mixing.
As a producer and engineer I've worked with Imogen Heap, Windmills, Sidewave, Husbands, Graveyard of the Atlantic, Lost Dog, and many other artists. I've also composed for film and commercials (The World Underground : China), engineered sessions with Steve Albini, and I've been a panelist at Music Expo Boston and AES on DIY Audio and building your own recording studio. Sometimes I'm asked to pick up a guitar or play drums on a track - I do whatever serves the song.
I am currently working on long term projects for a few artists in the Boston area but I am also looking for new challenges.
